Welcome to Penobscot Pens

 penpile

We offer beautiful hand made pens from gorgeous woods, acrylics, and other neat materials.  We have a vast gift selection of handcrafted custom pens for the professional, family member, friend, or clergy on your list. We offer a wide collection of items such as personalized pensfountain pens, rollerball pens, click style pens, Euro style pens, pens sets, religious theme pens, executive custom pens, company logo advertising pens, custom holiday gift pens, and just about any other kind of pen you can think of.  We have to show you a picture of each and every pen because the one you see is the one you get.  Thats because our pens are custom made and each and every one is different.  Please note that there is only one of each pen (quantity is always one).  Office supply and Department Store pens are always made from acrylic using the same colors and few styles.  The're stamped out at pen factories and they are 2 to 3 times more expensive.  You pay for the name!  They show you one picture and that covers a million or so pens.  You and a million or so other people get the same pen.  With our pens, no one is going to have a pen quite like yours.  Even our acrylic pens are different.  We don't make 10 or 1000 of the same kind.  We try to make each one slightly different either in material, color, or style.

Civil War Commemorative Pen - Men of the Civil War
Civil War Commemorative Pen - Men of the Civil War
Inspired by the era when correspondence was an art form and crafsmanship was honored with replicas of Civil War era bullets and musket, this pen is ready to help you create your own chapter of history. It's the perfect gift for the Civil War enthusiasts, gun aficionados, history buffs, and outdoorsman. The cap is a replica of the 58 caliber Minie' Ball Bullet. This was the most widely used bullet in the civil war. Originally a French army bullet, it was officially adopted by the Americans in 1855. Rings were added to the original design to hold grease to help ease the bullet down the barrel as well as to collect powder residue when fired. It was used in the Model 1861 Springfield Musket. The pen clip is a replica of the Model 1861 Springfield Musket. The Model 1861, commonly referred to as the "Springfield", a single shot, muzzle-loading gun favored for its range, accuracy and reliability, It fired the 58 caliber Minie' Ball and had a maximum effective range of 500 yards. It was the most common firearm in use by both Union and Confederate forces. The tip is a replica of the 44 caliber 1860 Colt Army Revolver bullet. Shot from the 1860 Colt Army revolver, it was the favorite side arm for cavalry, infantry, and artillery troops. It was the most widely used handgun of the civil war. A six shot model, it allowed the user to fire six times before needing to stop and reload the weapon. The 44 calber bullet was designed for the revolver's round barrel, with a cartidge that had paper glued to the ball. The body of this pen is made of deer antler with a decal of a  "Yank" on one side and a "Johnny Reb" on the other.  It has been coated with many layers of cyanoacrylate (CA) to protect it and polished to a high luster. It is plated with a beautiful gun metal finish. The pen uses a Parker style refill actuated by twisting the cap. It measures approximately 9/16" diameter at the nib and weights about 2 grams. It comes with a brochure explaining it's features and signed by the penmaker. It also comes in a gray velour gift box and ships free by USPS Priority Mail.
