The Forester.  Not a new design but a new concept, The Forester will only be available in wood and titanium gold plating.  For those who love simplicity, it offers the clean look of Euro styling and the elegance of wood.  The titanium gold plating is one of the best available, second perhaps only to Rhodium.  The body is turned from Black Palm.  Black Palm is a hard, dense, and stringy wood that, despite being somewhat difficult to work with, makes for phenomenal-looking finished products. The distinctive streaks embedded in the wood — which can vary in color from black to white to brown — add visual flair to pens, knife handles, pool cues, and a host of other turned items. Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) is native to Southeast Asia and also goes by the names Asian Palmyra Palm and Toddy Palm. The trees can reach tremendous heights of 100 feet or more, and are so hearty that they sometimes live for more than 100 years. The long trunks of the trees contain an abundance of wood, naturally — although, due to their relative thinness, the pieces that finally emerge are never especially wide (rarely over 6 inches).  This piece was hand turned for this pen and then coated with several layers of cyanoacrylate (CA) to protect the wood and keep the high luster forever. This pen uses a twist mechanism and a smooth writing Cross refill. It measures approximately 7/16 in wide by 5 1/2 inches long. Comes in a grey velour lined gift case. Ships free by USPS Priority Mail.
